Fall has always felt like an invitation to come home.
The windows stay open just a little longer. Blankets find their way back to the sofa. Something good is usually happening in the kitchen. And if you share your home with a dog, there are suddenly leaves being tracked across the floor approximately three minutes after you swept them.
We wouldn't have it any other way.
This fall feels especially meaningful at The House of Doodle because we're coming home, too.
For the past year, we've been relatively quiet. Behind the scenes, however, there has been a lot happening. We took time away to rethink our business, simplify what wasn't working, and get very clear about what we wanted to create next.
And somewhere along the way, we kept coming back to the same things:
Dogs. Home. Fragrance. Joy.
Not just candles with cute dog names. Not just things for people who happen to own dogs.
We wanted to create a home fragrance and lifestyle brand for people who understand that the dog isn't simply in the home.
The dog is part of what makes it home.
Welcome to The House of Doodle
The House of Doodle is inspired by real life with dogs—the wonderful, funny, occasionally ridiculous version of it.
The zoomies through a freshly cleaned room.
The car rides with a face hanging happily out the window.
The suspicious silence that usually means someone has locked himself in the bathroom....again.
The treats.
The walks.
The muddy paws.
The place on the sofa that technically belongs to you but hasn't actually been available to you in years.
And, more than anything, the companionship that makes an ordinary day feel a little brighter.
Those moments became the inspiration behind what we're creating here.
Our fragrances are designed for the home, but the personality behind them comes from the dogs who share those homes with us. You'll see that in everything from our candle names and photography to the stories we'll tell here in BRIGHTER DAYS.
Why BRIGHTER DAYS?
Because we wanted a place that could be about more than what we're selling.
BRIGHTER DAYS is where we'll talk about fragrance and beautiful homes, certainly. But we'll also talk about dogs, entertaining, gifting, seasonal living, the occasional mess, and all the wonderfully imperfect things that happen when you build a life around creatures with four paws and absolutely no respect for your decorating plans.
Some days we'll share something useful.
Some days we'll share something beautiful.
And some days we may simply share something that made us laugh.
That's the point.
We're Starting With Fall
We couldn't think of a better season for a new beginning.
Our Fall Collection celebrates everything we love about this time of year: crisp afternoons, apple season, falling leaves, something warm baking in the kitchen, and dogs who seem completely convinced that every pile of leaves was placed there specifically for them.
It's familiar and nostalgic, but with the little wink you'll come to expect from The House of Doodle.
And there's much more coming.
Over the next several months, we'll introduce more of the fragrances, stories and ideas we've been working on behind the scenes. We're deliberately taking our time. After a year spent rethinking the business, we've learned that we don't need to make everything.
We want to make the right things—things that feel joyful, useful, giftable and worthy of a place in your home.
